Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) recruits who used to guide terrorists into Uri and other areas of Jammu & Kashmir were arrested by the Army on Saturday.

According to official sources, the duo arrested in the case might have played a key role in helping the fidayeen group in breaching the outer security ring in Uri.

According to Defence PRO of Udhampur-based Northern Command headquarters, Colonel SD Goswami, “Two Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) nationals were apprehended on September 24 in a joint operation by the Army and the BSF. During the investigations, the individuals have revealed their identities as Ahasan Kursheed and Faisal Hussain Awan both from POK”. The two were recruited two years ago by JeM and were guiding terrorists to infiltrate across the line of Control. “The details shared by them are being examined and corroborated by the agencies concerned,” he added.
