The Internet of Everything is making a difference. From fulfilling the basic necessities of life to better style of governance, it has been changing people’s lives

We are now living in a digital, borderless, global village. Here Internet of Things is fast becoming the Internet of Everything through wired and wireless connectivity which is making a vast difference in our lives. Can we compare the Internet of Everything to god almightyIJ Today, more than 2.7 billion people use the Internet. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg believes connectivity is a human right and he is working hard to connect the next five billion people on the globe to the Internet through his social networking website.

Can the World Wide Web be equivalent to the collective consciousness or the sum total of brain power, ideas and thought leadership of the entire humanity, hooked into the World Wide WebIJ To answer these questions, the first thing we should know is: What are the attributes of godIJ Believers say without any doubt that god is everywhere, in living and non-living things.

Some rational thinkers may modify calling god as the law of nature or the supreme consciousness in the cosmos or even the ultimate energy flow where everything begins and ends in the universe, vindicating the most famous energy equation of the most famous scientific genius ever born on the planet Earth.

Albert Einstein’s mass–energy relation states that the universal proportionality factor between equivalent amounts of energy and mass is equal to the speed of light squared. God may be invisible like the electromagnetic waves that circumambulate the globe three times in a second with believed attributes of god being omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent.

More than 30 billion devices are expected to be wirelessly hooked to the Internet of things by 2020. The Internet of things is going to connect the rest of everything. In the present day, knowledge economy, better technology and efficiency in data application may empower more people accessing the Internet and smart phones with data access and application software bringing the power of knowledge at their finger tips.

It gets into every gamut of the lives of the people from womb to tomb — basic necessities of life, food, nutrition, health medicine, housing, education, employment, welfare, entertainment, culture, environment, safety, community living, Government and corporate governance, functioning, enterprises resource planning, management, monitoring and decision making. The Internet of things enhances the citizens’ experience of governance and the share holders and other stakeholders’ experience of corporate governance as well.

With more connectivity, access to big data and more application software, the Internet of everything is making a big difference in the lives of the people. It helps various Governments with a better style of governance. It adds new dimensions to our understanding, sharpens real time knowledge, increases information sharing and enriches our experience. The objective is not just to connect, but to make a big difference in the lives of the people.

Knowledge from the information-hub has real time power to make a positive difference in the lives of the people and the world we live in. Right technological solutions and collaborative mindset can improve governance thereby making life better, safer and healthier. Instead of remaining aloof in silos and solve with issues affecting health, safety and the quality of life of the citizens, Government organisations and agencies can function effectively and efficiently by sharing relevant data and analytics through the Internet.

The huge Government paraphernalia of India Inc can be run with the use of integrated, relevant, and reliable data base and analytics for informed, faster real time decision making. Cutting-edge technology of today can help community participation and stakeholder involvement in the decision making process. Funds will be used where most critically needed which will in turn secure taxpayers’ trust with transparent governance.
