Don't target Iran, look at your conduct

Hassan Rahimi Mazd

Israel has mastered the art of telling big lies, in the belief that the bigger the lie, the greater the chance it will be taken as the Gospel truth. That’s what the Israeli envoy to India has done in his recent interaction with The Pioneer, argues Hassan Rahimi Majd

The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it. It’s a propaganda technique known as the Big lie and is attributed to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. According to this technique, “A lie should be so colossal that no one would believe that someone could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.” The Zionist regime and its allies have for many years used this sinister method against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The power and effect of this method has become even more lethal in the era of technology and fast communication.

The most important recent examples of use of the Big lie technique include the false claim of the presence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the combat against terrorism in Afghanistan. Millions of innocent men, women and children have been sacrificed at the altar of this technique.

Israel’s Ambassador to India (Alon Ushpiz), had an interaction with the editorial board of The Pioneer and the contents were published in the daily on June 2. It appears from the interview that he reserved almost half of all his comments for Iran.

Without giving any evidence to the wise Indian readers, he reiterated Big lies; for instance, that the Iranian nuclear programme was military-oriented and that Iran supported terrorism. Probably he thinks that whatever the Zionist regime says is the Gospel and that the people must dutifully accept the same.

It must be remembered that Iran is a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, whose Article 4 clearly mentions: “Nothing in this Treaty shall be interpreted as affecting the inalienable right of all the parties to the Treaty to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination.”

The International Atomic Energy Agency, which is the only competent authority to oversee the nuclear activities of all member states, has performed intensive inspections stretching over 4000 man hours, of the nuclear installations of Iran, and has installed numerous cameras which are busy filming all the activities on there 24 hours a days, on a 365- day basis. But the agency has not been able to prove that even a single gram of nuclear material of Iran has been diverted for military purposes.

Iranis a front-runner in the field of not building atomic weapons. It has signed the NPT and all its nuclear activities are under the complete supervision of the IAEA. Iran, unlike any other country in the world, also has got an additional and more important commitment towards not making nuclear weapons. The commitment comes out of a fatwa of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has declared atomic weapons asharam (forbidden). In Islam, a fatwa is the most stringent prohibition and for the Muslims its sanctity is even more than the conventional national and international laws. The credit for issuing such a fatwa goes to Iran.

In spite of all this, the envoy of the Israeli regime in his interview declared that the nuclear project of Iran is military-oriented. This claim is based only on the reports of the intelligence agencies such as the Mossad and the CIA. The world knows that these are the same agencies which had prepared false reports about supposed weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Regarding the incident of explosion in the vehicle of the Embassy of the Israeli regime in New Delhi, the Israeli Prime Minister accused Iran on television in Tel Aviv within 20 minutes of the incident taking place in New Delhi, and even before the flames had been doused. The Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly rejected this allegation and considers this incident to be a Zionist conspiracy to damage Iran-India historic friendly relations.

It should be remembered that at the time of incident, some reports appeared in the Indian media regarding the motive, the modus operandi and the beneficiary of the incident. All these reports supported the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and questioned the legitimacy of  Israel’s claim against us.

There is a long list of proven terrorist activities of the Zionist regime which include the massacre and assassination of Palestinians during the last 60 years, the False Flag operations throughout the world, the training and financial help to terrorist groups, and also the assassination of five nuclear scientists of Iran.

Another matter of grave concern is that the Israeli regime has also acquired a big and growing nuclear arsenal, away from all kinds of supervision and inspection. There is no guarantee that such an unbridled regime, which respects no law, will not push the nuclear button. Therefore, the world community should do something about that eventuality before it is too late.
