In a sensational killing, a 24-year-old youth was brutally beaten with bat and stumps by half-a-dozen miscreants in Amethi on Sunday evening. He was rushed to the KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow but the doctors pronounced him dead.
The shocking incident took place just a few steps from the Gauriganj Kotwali area but the cops failed to take notice of it in time.
The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Kapil Jaiswal.
According to reports, Kapil was going towards his house from the bus stop on Sunday evening when six rogues riding motorcycles attacked him with a cricket bat and stumps.
After committing the assailants, all the accused escaped.
On receiving information about Kapil's beating, his family members reached the spot and took him to the district hospital. Seeing the critical condition of Kapil, the doctors referred him to the Trauma Centre in Lucknow but he died on the way.
Kapil's father said that his son had a fight with a man named Neeraj Pandey of Musafirkhana road a week ago but the local people and the local police had intervened and pacified the matter. The father alleged that Neeraj had threatened to kill Kapil.
The police said that some witnesses also claimed that the victim had a tiff with some youths playing cricket in the area so they were investigating the case from all the angles.
A case was registered and the body was sent for post-mortem.
In another incident, the body of 30-year-old Abhay Singh aka Chhotey of Datai hamlet in Mirhachi, was found hanging from a tree in Etah district on Monday morning.
The family members said that Abhay was preparing to contest the upcoming gram pradhan election and probably he was killed by his opponents.
Shishupal, father of the victim, said that his son went out for work on Sunday evening and when he did not return home, they launched a hunt but were shocked to see his body hanging from a tree.
Circumstantial evidence pointed to murder as the victim had several injury marks on the body. It seems that the body was hanged after murder to make it look like a case of suicide.
Meanwhile, two kids were kidnapped in Firozabad.
Superintendent of Police of Firozabad, Ajay Kumar Pandey, said that two boys, 4-year-old Yogesh and 6-year-old Kunal hailing from Bhim Nagar locality under Dakshin police station, went missing after they went out to purchase toffees on Sunday afternoon. When they did not return, their families launched a hunt and also informed the police about the disappearance of the boys.
Pandey said that the probe pointed that the two boys were last seen sitting on a motorcycle with an unknown youth.
It seems that they were kidnapped though no ransom calls have been received by their families so far.
A case was registered and all out efforts were being made to trace out both the boys.
