In a tragic incident reported from Pilibhit, two young lovers ended their lives after the family of the youth not only opposed his affair with the girl but also settled his marriage somewhere else.
The shocking development came on the eve of tilak of the youth fixed for Friday. The bodies of both the lovers were found hanging on Thursday morning. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem and started the investigation.
Reports said that Arun Lodhi, hailing from Sainjna village of Pilibhit, had a love affair with Kumkum Lodhi of the same area. The family members of Arun were opposed to the affair and fixed his marriage with another girl.
Arun’s girlfriend was angry after learning that her lover's marriage was fixed with someone else. The tilak was to take place on Friday.
To avoid marrying another girl, both Arun and Kumkum eloped from their homes on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, their bodies were found hanging in the empty house of Rajkumar, a relative of Kumkum.
The police are now waiting for the post-mortem report before proceeding further with the investigation.
