Aiming to nurture scientific temper among students, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a `Science Bus’ which would carry out

simple experiments about daily life and dispel superstition in far flung areas. The CM flagged off the bus from his official 5, KD Marg residence in lucknow on Friday.

“Science plays an important role in dispelling superstition. This bus will play a pivotal role in exposing students to the magical world of science. Scientists on board the bus will carry out simple experiments to teach students in far flung areas about the simple principles of science through experiments,” Yogi said.

The bus, equipped with modern technology, has been built by IIT, Kanpur in collaboration with Council of Science and Technology (CST), Uttar Pradesh. The bus will have over 300 videos pertaining to science and its experiments.

Yogi said  that the bus would be available for each school for a minimum of two days where scientists and Science teachers would make village students aware about the difference between science and superstition.

“Science plays an important role in the development of society. The government wants the students to understand principles of science and use the knowledge in development of the state and the country. Science is the only light which can dispel, the darkness of ignorance,” the CM said in his address.

Yogi hoped that the bus would also help students in learning the values of hygiene, environment and cleanliness.

Industrial Development Commissioner, Dr Anup Chandra Pandey, Principal Secretary (Information) Avnish Awasthi and students from IIT, Kanpur were present on the occasion.
