In his first public rally in Alwar in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Yogi Balaknath from Tijara assembly constituency, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a controversial comparison between the ideology of Congress party and that of the Taliban.
Yogi Adityanath said this Taliban-like mindset had tarnished the longstanding traditions of Rajasthan, a state known for its rich cultural heritage and devotion. He emphasised that the solution to such ideologies lay in the metaphorical ‘Bajrangbali’s Gada’ (mace), referring to the recent targeted actions taken by Israel in Gaza as an example of selectively eliminating terrorists.
The chief minister contended that if the Congress had been in power, the long-standing issue of the Ram Mandir would never have been resolved. However, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the ongoing construction of the Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya, symbolising a period of development in the region.
Yogi also highlighted the achievements of the Central government and the governance and development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh. He expressed optimism that with the formation of a BJP government in Rajasthan, the concept of ‘Ram rajya’ would be realised.
The UP chief minister accused the Gehlot government of being anti-Hindu, alleging that professional criminals and goons were given patronage while the state’s heritage and saints were disrespected under their governance. He emphasised that in states governed by the BJP, safety and respect for daughters, saints and cows were ensured through comprehensive security measures.
He concluded by warning against the Congress party, suggesting that its return to power would jeopardise the dignity of women and urged collective efforts to transform Rajasthan into a state that embodies the ideals of ‘Ram rajya’, focusing on prosperity and minimal corruption.
