In an apparent damage control exercise following the Dadri lynching incident Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said the state government will act tough against the conspirators even ready to sacrifice the government for the sake of communal harmony in the state.
Breaking his silence after 10 days of the Dadri incident Mulayam Singh Yadav without naming the political party said here on Thursday that it was a preplanned conspiracy hatched by three persons of a specific party and those behind the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots too too were involved in Dadri incident.
“The Dadri incident was a pre-planned conspiracy; you will come to know the names. According to the information I have gathered, three persons related to a specific party are behind the incident,” said the SP chief in a press conference here on Thursday. He said “a party delegation will be sent to Dadri after which it will become clear who these three persons were”.
Dropping a subtle hint on the identity of the conspirators Mulayam Singh Yadav said `` I ask the chief minister to act tough against the conspirators. Chor nahi Chor Ki nani Ko Pakdo (do not catch the mere thief; catch the maternal grandmother of the thief).
“Somebody is hatching a conspiracy to destroy the communal harmony in the state. The conspiracy was hatched in Muzaffarnagar riots in 2013 and same was repeated in Dadri. This time we will spare none and the culprits would be dealt with sternly as soon as their names are revealed after the investigations’ ‘said the SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. `` The matter is under investigation and after that we will review the matter and we will crush the communal forces even if we have to sacrifice our government ‘’.
“State government is determined to unearth the truth behind the Dadri incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, he is MP from Uttar Pradesh and I urge him to take the matter seriously.”
He however evaded a reply when asked why the prime minister was silent on Dadri issue saying “on issue related with the prime minister I will raise when I meet him”.
He said the Dadri incident was a conspiracy “to oppress the people of a specific community. The SP government will not allow this conspiracy to succeed”. He also claimed that communal forces were hatching conspiracies against the SP government which, he said, was gaining popularity because its development works.
Expressing his apparent dissatisfaction with the state government Yadav said, “I am sure that the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will act tough to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.”
Referring to the kar sewa agitation by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at disputed site at Ayodhya in October 1990 during his first tenure as chief minister of UP, Mulayam Singh Yadav said, “I have long experience in dealing with the communal forces, you don’t negotiate with such forces they have to crushed with a heavy hand.”
Without naming any party Yadav said, “They had no issue except Ayodhya. The than Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar in 1990 had advised me to train and arm 1,000 youth of a particularly community and they will deal with the communal forces, but I preferred to ignore the advice. I want to caution such forces that they will be exposed if they continue to work against the aspirations of the people, issue at stake here is not the political party but the country’’. He added `` during his long years in public life top leaders of the trusted him, advised him and also cooperated on crucial matters.”
