PNS
Reiterating his resolve on maintaining law and order, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that his government would come down heavily in crime, criminals and their political masters.  Taking a dig the BSP and SP, the CM said those who governed the state for 10 years were raising questions on performance of the two-month-old BJP regime. Yogi spoke for nearly two hours replying to the debate in the Assembly on the motion of thanks on the address of the Governor at the joint session of state legislature on Friday.
``We will neither tolerate criminals nor those who patronise them. This government is not of any particular caste or religion and anyone who victimises the poor and down trodden should be ready to face the music,” warned the CM.
“The criminals know their destiny after the BJP came to power in UP. We will deal with them in whichever language they understand. The  government has given a free hand to the police administration to come down heavily on crime and criminals,’’ said Yogi.
“For the first time in my, life I saw members of the House blowing whistles during the address of the Governor. But for others who whistle, we have set up an anti-Romeo squads,”  said the CM attacking the Samajwadi Party.
Yogi said that during the anti Romeo drive, the UP Police had nabbed over 1.74 lakh  ‘road romeos’ creating trouble for girls  and the police checked 6.38 lakh places across the state and 1,061 were booked and the rest were let off with warning.
The CM reiterated that his government was committed to ensuring safety and security of women.
``Na koi apna na parayaa (nobody is close or distant to me). Everybody knows about me. I have decided that the government will not tolerate the crime,’’said the CM in his reply covering all issues raised by 74 MlAs  from both Opposition and Treasury benches during the four-day debate in the Assembly.
In an obvious attack on the SP and BSP, the CM sought to know, “Who are behind criminalization of the politics in UP, politicization of criminals, casteisation of administration, commercialization of criminals and turning transfer of government officials into an industry.’’
The CM added in the same vein, “We all know the answer. My government needs some time to clear the mess created by successive government in the last two decades.’’
Yogi covered all issues concerning society and economy of the state including revision of syllabus from primary to higher education, giving due recognition to icons ignored by previous  regimes, sugarcane farmers, ensuring  remunerative price to farmers through minimum support price, power supply, ending VIP culture, assistance to physically challenged, health  services, closure of illegal abattoirs and the plight of Muslim women who are victims of triple talaq.
Yogi said that his government had to enforce the NGT’s order on illegal slaughter houses as the previous regime did not do so. “ We will not allow anyone to violate laws. I had categorically said this to a delegation of slaughter house owners who came to meet me,” said he.
The CM also said that very soon the government was going to constitute an Anti-land grabbing Task Force to identify land sharks.
Yogi, who hails from Gorakhpur - an epicentre of dreaded Encephalitis, said that a mega drive would be launched from May 25 from Kushinagar for vaccination to prevent the killer disease among children. The drive will cover 38 districts mostly in eastern and central parts of the state.
The CM also said that the government had fulfilled it promise to farm loan waiver upto Rs one lakh while cane farmers have been paid dues worth Rs 21,570 crores and the rest would be done soon.
Speaking on introduction of e-tendering to prevent corruption, the CM said that it was unfortunate that Mining minister of the state earned what the government did not get from mining revenue.
He also hit out at the SP and BSP terming that renowned personalities were divided on caste lines but his government has ended all holidays on their names and now students would learn about them in classes.
“By introducing e-tendering and other system, the revenue would increase by 7 to 10 times in mining sector and eliminate illegal practices. The revenue would further increase after satellite mapping in areas of mining. In the previous SP regime, the revenue of Mining minister was far more than the revenue of the department.
The CM said that the pension of ‘divyang’ has been hiked to Rs 500 from Rs 300 besides all roads in the state would become pothole-free by June 15.  With the approval of the Thanks motion to the Governor’s address, the assembly Aession ended on Friday, a day before its schedule.
