PNS

To make Vrindavan decongested, the authorities of the city of temples have decided to ban the entry of vehicles ferrying pilgrims from outside in the weekend starting from January 22.

Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Ashutosh Dwivedi said that the new system would start from January 22 and it would be on trial for a month. He said under the scheme all the four wheelers entering from Yamuna Expressway and Delhi highway would be parked out at specially made parking slots. The officer said the new arrangement would also be enforced during the holidays also.

Dwivedi said that the arrangement has made in view of the sudden spurt in the number of pilgrims coming from Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and other places throwing the traffic system in the temple city out of gear. "We have also made arrangements of 60 vehicles which would put in service to ferry people from the parking slots to the city and temples," the SP said.
