The Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha witnessed noisy scenes on Wednesday when BJP, RlD and BSP staged a noisy walkout over non-payment of canedues and hike in the power tariff.

BJP questioned as why UP government did not raise the cane price whenthe farmers were facing the brunt of inflation.“It seems Government is hand in glove with the private sugar millowners and therefore it did not raise the SAP,” Satish Mahana, BJP,said during question hour.
Dalbir Singh (RlD) said that cane due runs over Rs 1750 crores and there was no effort of the government to clear the dues.
The BJP members alleged that the Bajaj and Mawana, private sugar mills, still owe over Rs 800 crores, but the government was not doing anything against them.

UP Sports Minister Ram Karan Arya, replying to the questions said due  to the harsh steps taken by the UP government, the private mills were forced to make the payment of over 92 per cent of the cane dues. Not satisfied with the answer RlD and BJP members staged a noisy walkout.
Similarly, the BSP staged a walkout of the House, after the government refused to accept their demand to withdraw the hiked power tariff rate in the state.
