Despite tall claims and repeated directions, the police has gone out of control during Akhilesh regime and FIRs of the victims were not being registered leading the protest, unrest and anguish among the people, forcing them to take law into their hands.
This was stated by the state BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak who was talking to media persons at the state party headquarters on Thursday. Citing the incident of Orva village in Chandauli district, he said that the insenstivity of the police was manifested when they refused to register the FIR about the rape of 12 year old minor girl. "The inhuman behaviour of the police created unrest and anguish among the locals and they resorted to violence and ultimately police had to register the FIR" he said.
The BJP spokesman said that the tall claims of the Chief Minister about the improvement in policing have been proved untrue. " Be it Etawah or Chandauli or other places in the state, victims are not getting the proper attention of the police s their FIRs are not being registered" Pathak alleged. " If police would have acted timely the violence in Chandauli could have been prevented" he added.
The BJP spokesman said that it was most unfortunate that Chief Minister was holding media and opposition responsible or the spurt in crime. " But he (CM) must tell the people that what actions have been taken against the erring police officials in Chandauli and Etawah" Pathak insisted. He demanded stern action against the rring policemen and high level probe of the incident and adequate security to the victim and her family members.
