Top cops of Uttar Pradesh police held a meeting with representatives of leading oil and refinery companies here on Wednesday and assured them of all possible help in check theft of oil in refineries as well as during transportation.
An official communiqué of the government confirmed that during first meeting of `Onshore Security Coordination Committee’ DGP OP Singh while listening to the problems of the oil companies assured that the police would help them in character verification of employees, encroachment over pipe lines, influence of local goons etc. He also said that special teams will be formed to check theft of oil from pipelines or during transportation. The meeting was attended by officials of GAIl, ONGC, HPCl, BPl etc.
Meanwhile Google also forwarded proposal to facilitate Uttar Pradesh police in promoting it prominent help line numbers and twitter services. According to an official communiqué of the Home Department, the Google offered to popularize the Womens Power line (1090), Dial-100, E-FIR verification and UP police twitter services etc.
