The Uttar Pradesh government dismissed PCS officer Ashok Shukla for posting objectionable content against the state government on social media.
The officer had also targeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his post.
Shukla was promoted to state civil services from the post of tehsildar and was presently posted at Board of Revenue as officer on special duty. Earlier, he had served as sub-divisional officer (SDM) of Hathras, Hardoi and Amethi. He posted the objectionable content while being posted as SDM of Amethi.
The state government had instituted a departmental inquiry against Shukla under UP State Employees (Conduct and Appeal) Rules, 1999 and he was served a chargesheet in March 2018. Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow was the inquiry officer.
Besides social media post, Shukla was also charged with fraudulently transferring government land to a private individual while being posted as SDM of Shahabad in Hardoi.
