After a hiatus, the UP police registered an FIR against Amanmani, son of former UP Minister, Amarmani Tripathi, along with others for murder, conspiracy and subjecting his wife to cruelty in Firozabad.
The FIR was registered on the plea of the family members of the deceased Sara Singh, who was allegedly killed in an accident on July 9 at Sirsaganj on the national highway-2.
An FIR under sections 498 (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a married woman), 302 (murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) was lodged against Amanmani Tripathi at Sirsaganj police station on Saturday night.
Sara’s mother Seema Singh had told police that she doubted the veracity of the post-mortem report, saying that there was no mention of the injury marks on her body nor was it (post-mortem) conducted by a panel of doctors. She alleged that her daughter was victim of a conspiracy hatched by her husband Amanmani Tripathi and his jailed father and former UP Minister Amarmani Tripathi. She also alleged that Sara had not a happy matrimonial life.
“It is quite suspicious that while my daughter died in the accident, Amanmani, who was behind wheels, escaped almost unscathed,” she said. Station officer, Sirsaganj, Pramod Kumar Yadav said, “An FIR has been registered following the complaint and now police will start investigation.”
Meanwhile, the family members of Sara would be visiting lucknow district jail today to confront with Amanmani, who was arrested after the accident in a separate kidnapping case.
Sara (27) was killed on July 9 when the car in which she was traveling overturned into a pit in a bid to save a cyclist in Firozabad district. Amanmani, who was driving the car, had miraculously escaped unhurt, raising doubts over the accident.
The family, suspecting foul play, had been knocking the doors of the Raj Bhawan, DGP and SSP of lucknow demanding CBI inquiry in the case. Seema Singh had called on the governor Ram Naik on Thursday last and apprised him of the case and pressed for CBI probe.
The family had also demanded the Narco analysis test of her husband Amanmani and father-in-law Amarmani Tripathi. The family had complained to the SSP of lucknow on Friday that after some months of marriage, the couple had been having fights and Sara was harassed.
Amanmani is son of Amarmani Tripathi, who is presently serving life term along with his wife Madhumani in the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla. Amanmani, had also contested the 2012 assembly elections on the ticket of Samajwadi Party.
