To expose the failures of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and fake promises of ensuring `achche din’, the UP Congress will hold block-level meetings to make the masses aware from June 5 to 25.
The Congress move is not only aimed at exposing the Modi government but also rejuvenate the party in preparing brasstacks to contest the 2019 Parliament elections.
Giving details in lucknow on Friday, UP Congress spokesman Siddharth Priya Srivastava said that Congress general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad and state chief Raj Babbar have asked all district and city Congress chiefs to hold meetings and chaupals in blocks under their jurisdiction to expose the BJP governments.
“The meetings will be attended by all block-level workers, leaders and member of AICC and PCC from that particular district . The leaders will make the people aware on how the BJP had cheated traders, farmers, youths, women etc by making false promises during poll campaign last year,” he said.
Srivastava further said, “The leaders will also point out the failure of demonetisation, how imposition of Goods and Services Tax ruined the future of business community, how inflation was rising with prices of commodities increasing every day due to failure of the government in checking the prices of petr-products etc.”
