The UP Congress accused the ruling BJP for making cosmetic exercise of organising UP Investors Summit to cheat the people and claimed that both the Centre and state governments were not serious on bringing in any investment to the state.
The party also asked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to release a ‘White Paper’ on the present status on Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) signed by earlier state governments inviting investment into UP.
“The tall claims of inviting leading industrialists and interest shown by them in investing in UP is nothing but a cosmetic exercise by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Theye areonce again misleading the people of the state in the name of development in the run up to the 2019 Parliament elections,” alleged Congress MlC Deepak Singh.
Singh claimed that the truth behind Modi and Yogi’s claims of bringing in investment falls flat if one just goes by the action taken by the Union and state governments respectively.
“The Modi government came up with the plan of setting up a huge food processing unit while its foundation stone was laid during United Progressive Alliance government in Amethi by Kumar Mangalam Birla. But this proiject never took off,” pointed out Singh.
“The Union government in only doing politics. One one hand they are shelved a project just because it was plalned in Amethi during UPA regime and now they were inviting the same industrialists (Birla) to come and invest in UP,” Singh said.
Rs Rs It is anybody’s guess that an industrialist whose earlier unit was closed due to political reasons would be interested in investing in UP again,” he reasoned.
What is more, the truth behind Yogi’s claim of industrialists looking towards UP after he took over reins stand exposed with Tata Group already packing its bags and announcing to shift Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) from the state to some place else. And Tatas are not the only one, “ Singh claimed.
The MlC said that hundreds of small industries have already shut shop in UP just due to demonetisation by the Union government.
Singh further said that ‘UP Investors Summit’ was nothing but a display of how industrialists were dictating the Modi government and hence several crore rupees of public money was spend to accord them a warm welcome. He alleged that the Modi government has waived off over 1 lakh crore of pending loans of top industrialists and also facilitated escape of defaulters like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi etc even after they bled Indian banks of several thousand crore rupees.
