After skipping the Winter Session of the state legislature, the Yogi government is slated to hold a brief Budget Session next month.
Earlier, the opposition parties were up in arms against the BJP government for not holding the Winter Session.
Budget proposals are expected to focus on pro-people issues as it will be the last full budget of the government before 2022 Assembly elections in the state.
Budget proposal for 2021-22 fiscal was likely to be brought in mid February and a proposal has been given to the state government to table the budget in the Assembly on February 18.
Sources said all the government departments have been asked to submit their proposals immediately, so that budget preparations could start. They further said that the Budget session could be brief and on the opening day, Governor Anandiben Patel would address the joint session as it will be the first sitting in 2021.
After two to three days of debate on Thanks motion over the Governor’s address, the budget would be tabled and it would be passed in a week.
