Unnao district has achieved the top ranking in Ease of Doing Business (EODB) in Uttar Pradesh.
With a total score of 178.12, Unnao has retained the top rank in Category-A of districts (receiving over 2,000 applications) through single window portal, Nivesh Mitra, while with 185.74 score, Kaushambi retained its position in the Category-B of districts (receiving less than 2,000 applications) for the month of August 2020 district-level Ease of Doing Business ranking.
From May this year, state government has started evaluating monthly district-level EODB rankings for all 75 districts. Unnao and Kaushambi have been the leading districts in categories A and B, respectively, continuously since then.
On monthly basis, the districts are being assessed on key EODB parameters such as monthly disposal of licences/NOCs, grievances resolution and user satisfaction feedback.
In the preceding month of August, 64 out of 75 districts of the state improved their district-level Ease of Doing Business scores.
More than 15 districts such as Kanpur Nagar, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Lalitpur, and Sitapur have improved their ranks by more than four places.
Due to the district-level EODB ranking, Uttar Pradesh saw its user satisfaction rate increase up to 73 per cent, while grievances disposal rate increased from 72 per cent in July, 2020 to 75 per cent in August 2020.
Additional Chief Secretary (Infrastructure & Industrial Development) Alok Kumar said, “Increasing monthly user satisfaction and higher grievances disposal are clear indicator of the ground level change in the state and the monthly district-level EODB ranking exercise shall be a game changer.”
