Unholy nexus of government official

PNS

large scale bungling surfaced in the recruitment of Urdu teachers and indicated that government officials were in cahoots with the accused in tampering with the merit list to get some candidates selected. Ironically, now that the case has come out in the open, the authorities are yet to take any action in the matter.

The unholy nexus of government official and affluent aspiring candidates came to the fore after Mehboob Ali of Khairabad (Sitapur) sought reply to a querry under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

In dact, Ali took the examination for recruitment of Urdu teachers but failed to make the cut. However to his shock, he discovered that some candidates with less number got selected in the Trained Education Teachers (TET) results.

Ali later sought the marks of one Aleemuddin through a RTI application filed at the office of District Training and Education Institution in Khairabad (Sitapur).

The reply to the RTI querry was shocking. It said that Aleemudin got 168 out of 400 in Written Test and 105 out of 200 in practical examination in the TET examination. But while preparing the merit list, the recruitment agency hiked his score to 248 out of 400 and 125 out of 200 respectively which did the trick for Aleemudin and he got selected.

In another recruitment of Assistant Urdu teachers in lakhimpur Kheri, the verification of TET results showed that ten of the selected candidates submitted tampered marksheets showing much higher numbers than what they actually secured. The matter is under investigation and no action has been taken against the guilty .

Similarly in Balrampur district, of the teachers selected on the basis of TET results, the marksheets of five have been found to be forged. The BSA of Balrampur has ordered an enquiry. A senior officer said that the disclosures are just the tip of the iceberg. If the government gets serious then several hundred candidates selected as Urdu teachers would be found tamperingtheir marksheets or exam results thus depriving the deserving candidates.
