Two girls were cheated and later gang-raped in separate incidents reported from Agra and Bijnor respectively.

In Agra, an 18-year old girl from Firozabad alleged that she was gang-raped by two men last Sunday. She claimed that she had befriended one of the accused on Instagram.

As the police complaint against the two was filed only on Thursday evening, the cops immediately swung into action and detained the accused for quizzing. The cops are also scanning CCTV footage of the area where the assault took place, to gather evidence.

As per the FIR, on Sunday, Krishna Baghel (24), who had befriended the young girl in social media six months ago, called her to meet him. After she agreed, Baghel came with his friend Hemant Kumar and the trio drove off in a car. Inside the car, the survivor was forced to consume beer and later the miscreants took turns with her in the moving vehicle in Sikandra area of Agra. The accused also videotaped the entire incident and threatened to make it viral if she complained about it to anyone.

Later, the survivor narrated her ordeal to her younger sister and they decided to approach the police and file a complaint. The victim’s brother alleged that she even tried killing herself by consuming sleeping pills but was luckily saved.

Circle Officer of Sikandra area, Lakhan Singh, said that the police had taken both the accused in custody for further interrogation and charged them with Section 376 D (gang-rape) of the Indian Penal Code.

In Bijnor, a 20-year-old woman was gang-raped by two friends after being drugged by intoxicant-laced soft drink around midday on December 19.

The accused have been identified as Umer and Abdul. According to Bijnor police, the incident occurred at around 12 pm on December 19.

As per reports, Umar called the victim over phone and convinced her to come near a hostel. Later on the pretext of celebrating his sister's birthday, Umar convinced the victim to sit inside the car for a drive. Umar’s aide Abdul was already inside the vehicle and they drove off. The duo later took the girl to a hotel and served her a soft drink laced with some intoxicant. As she passed out, they gang-raped her. The accused let her off after handing out threats against reporting the matter to the police or any family member.

The complainant alleged that the accused told her that they had made a video of her and demanded Rs 10,000 for not uploading it on the internet. However, with the help of another friend, she managed to pay Rs 8,000 through Paytm.

A case was registered against the accused under charges of gang-rape, kidnapping, assault, handing out life threats, extortion and SC/ST Act at Kotwali police station and investigations were underway.
