In a sensational incident in Bareilly, a tanker driver transporting liquor from a distillery was murdered after being robbed by some unidentified miscreants near Faridpur toll plaza on Tuesday.
As per reports, Rajendra (45) left Rampur distillery with his tanker and was headed for Barabanki on Monday. But when he did not reach the destination a search was started by the transport company. When the company owner detected his location near Faridpur with the help of Global Positioning System (GPS), he sent his employees to the location where his body was found in the tanker's cabin. His body bore ant-mortem injuries on head and the cash was missing from his pocket. Later, the police were intimated who sent the body for autopsy.
After preliminary investigation, the police suspected the incident to be one of robbery and murder. The police also summoned forensic experts to collect possible evidence from the crime scene and investigations were underway to identify the assailants and track them down.
