As the illegal twin towers in Noida were imploded to dust within seconds, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday gave instructions to take the strictest actions against the culprits of the one-and-a-half-decade-old case.

After the Supreme Court's order, the chief minister got the case thoroughly investigated. In September 2021, on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a four-member committee was constituted under the chairmanship of the commissioner of infrastructure and industrial development. Based on the report of the inquiry committee, action was taken against 26 officers and employees involved in the case, directors of Supertech Limited and their architects.

An FIR was lodged by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) with Vigilance Establishment, Lucknow, in October 2021, against the involved officer of the authority, the director of Supertech Limited and the architect in the same case. Along with this, a case was also filed by the NOIDA in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district court for prosecution proceedings against its personnel and those of Supertech Ltd. While four officers involved in the case have been suspended, who were working in different development authorities, disciplinary action will now be initiated against them by the government.

Earlier, Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reviewed the demolition preparation and gave instructions to strictly comply with the safety standards in the process of demolition of the Supertech twin towers. While reviewing the preparations, the chief minister said that during the entire process of demolition of the towers, the safety of the people living in the adjoining residential complex should be ensured at all costs, and environmental standards should be taken care of.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leaders welcomed the demolition of the twin towers in Noida and launched an attack on the opposition parties as well as the former governments, pointing out that corruption was rampant during their regimes. Questions were also raised by BJP if similar moves would be taken in the future against illegal constructions.

Taking to Twitter, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya hit out at the Samajwadi Party and its chief Akhilesh Yadav while acclaiming that the Supertech twin towers in Noida were a "living proof of the policy of corruption and anarchy" of the former SP government.

He also hailed the BJP government for giving justice under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Speaking to an electronic channel, Maurya demanded answers from Akhilesh Yadav and alleged that the SP provided full protection to corruption and instead of admitting its mistake it continued to make allegations. He also claimed that the then government and the officers posted at NOIDA at that time were responsible for the illegal construction.

Stating that the demolition of the twin towers would send across a big message, Maurya said, "This is a big message to those people who have done such a thing. Strict action is taken in our government on such matters."

On the other hand, BJP information technology (IT) cell chief Amit Malviya while pointing his fingers toward the "builder-bureaucrat-politician nexus" went on to take a jibe at the Adarsh Society in Maharashtra and asked if it will be demolished next.
