Reacting of Union minister Maneka Gandhi’s statement on rcane growers, state Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) spokesman Surendra Nath Trivedi said those living in ivory castles can not fathom the problems of farmers and poor.
“The BJP leaders living in cozy environs seldom know the ground reality that farmers are facing a lot of hardships. These leaders are adept at making speeches and at times, they succeed in wooing the farmers too,” Trivedi said.
The RlD leader said that the RlD has been focussed in pioneering the cause of the farmers. and the community has always been in the centre of their policies and the party would coontinue to fight for their cause.
Trivedi said that the state government had failed to clear arrears of rcane growers and the BJP ministers were advising the farmers not to sow sugarcane.
“It would be better that they had devised a policy to address problems related to a glut in cane production instead of discouraging them,” he said.
