PNS, Prabha

Special Task Force (STF) arrested seven persons, from Muzaffar Nagar and New Delhi, for  working as solvers for Railway Police Force (RPF) constable exam-2013 on Sunday. The king on and his aide managed to escape arrest.

In wake of exams being conducted this year, STF wasasked to keep an eye on solvers who used to be on the prowl during competitive exam. While collecting the information, the STF got a tip off about a gang of solver for constable exam-2013 and started probe.Subsequently Rana Coaching Centre’s owner, Arvind Rana, of Budhana Kasba of Meerut, came on police radar and cops were tipped off that Rana would be providing answers of questions to be asked in exam through SMSs, blue tooth and other devices to various candidates.

Following this, two groups of STF sleuths raided places in Budana in Muzaffar nagar district and in Outer Delhi respectively and nabbed seven miscreants. Those arrested were identified as Kuldeep, Rahul, Sandeep, Vineet and Abrar, all of Muzaffar Nagar district and Subhash Tomar and Vivek Tomar of Bagpat district.

The miscreants owned their crime during interrogation and disclosed that Rana was the kingpin of the gang of solvers. They disclosed that Rana used to provide answers of the questions through SMSs, blue tooth or chips in wrist watch to the candidates. Rana’s ‘men’ in railway recruitment board used to provide him different sets of question papers well in time. After getting the questions solved by his solvers, Rana used to send answers through SMS and other devices to candidates.

The cops further said Rana used to extract a sum between Rs 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh from each of the candidates taking exam for constable-exam in RPF. The cops said Sandeep was once a student of Rana Coaching institute and joined the racket after he failed to clear RPF exam in 2007. Rana later engaged Sandeep to run the coaching institute while he appointed his aide Vijay Kumar, of Bagpat district, to run a branch of his coaching there. Rana himself used to look after the monetary affairs only. Efforts are on to track down both absconding miscreants Rana and Vijay.

The sleuths recovered 14 mobile phones, two Blue Tooth devices, several OMR sheets, a cash of Rs 30,000, several other documents and two motorcycles.
