The state Government made the first change in the postings made by the Election Commission during elections, when it transferred the district police chief of Rampur and attached him to the DGP office.
“SP, Rampur, RK Bhardwaj, has been attached to the DGP office and Sadhana Goswami, SP, Administration at DGP office here, has been made the new SP of Rampur,” an official communiqué confirmed here on Wednesday.
Goswami was removed as SP, Rampur during the lok Sabha polls by the Election Commission following complaints that she was acting on the diktats of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, who is also a local MlA.
Sadhana Goswami was earlier also posted as Additional SP in Rampur before being inducted into the elite Indian Police Services cadre and given charge of district police chief of Rampur.
