Hitting out at BJP Government of Uttar Pradesh the State unit of Congress said that law and order situation in the state is very bad as people now fear to move out of their houses after dusk.

“What has happened in Agra is a shame where a girl has written a letter to Chief Minister yogi Adityanath saying would leave Uttar Pradesh as she has been harassed by ruffians  and despite complaints from the police has not acted,” Virendra Madan, a senior Congress leader said.

He said that Yogi had issued statements saying that criminals would be forced to leave UP once BJP would come to power. Just the opposite is happening now. The girl who has been subject to harassment has now made up her mind to leave UP,” the Congress leader said.

He said not only common man on the streets even the farmers are bearing the brunt because of insensitivity of the government. People in Bundelkhand are forced to commit suicide, Madan said.

Talking about the recent hooch tragedy in Azamgarh he said that around 18 people have died after drinking illicit liquor. This shows that the business of hooch is on the rise in the state. This is happening when a Mahant is Chief Minister of the state, he said.

Madan declared that a Congress delegation led by former MP Rajesh Mishra will visit Azamgarh on Monday and meet the family members who have died in the hooch tragedy.
