Reacting to the allegation of the SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav that UPA Government was not providing economic assistance to Uttar Pradesh, the state BJP said that the truth was that SP chief was trying to save himself from the clutches of CBI in exchange of the support his party was extending to the Congress led UPA government.

The state BJP spokesman Dr Manoj Mishra said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar despite being opponent of the UPA has convinced the Union Government through his logicas and fact and obtained economic assistance while on other hand Mulayam Singh Yadav despite supporting UPA failed to do so. " The intrest of the SP is not rooted in obtaining economic assistance but to save itself from CBI net in disproportionate asset case" he said.

The state BJP spokesman also suggested that the ruling SP must stop daydreaming. "Instead the state government must concentrate on power sector which is in bad shape and severe power crisis might break at any moment" Mishra said. "Along with the power crisis, the state was all set to witness drinking water crisis as many rivers mainly in Bunelkhand regions have dried up" he said demanding the state government to shift its focus on these twin issues.

Meanwhile the state BJP president Dr lakshmikant Bajpai apprehended that lok Sabha election might be held in 2013 and rank and file must sink their diffrences to ensure that party wins maximum seats to pave the way for the

formation on NDA Government at centre. Bajpai was addressing the meeting of the west zone in Meerut on Sunday. He said that party workers will reach to the people between May 15 and 31 under the proposed ' gaon chalo gali chalo' programme to apprise the people about the good governance of NDA and dismal performance of UPA I and II.
