Sleuths of Shashatra Seema Bal (SSB) made a major breakthrough when they seized fake Indian currency notes (FINC) of over Rs 4 lakh, in notes of Rs 2000 denomination, near Piprahawa crossing of Balrampur on Thursday.
Publicity Officer of SSB Frontier (lucknow) RK Singh said that sleuths of SSB assisted by local police started checking on the Indo-Nepal border after being tipped off about movement of fake currency notes on Thursday morning.
“The team caught Ram Dayal Yadav and recovered about Rs 4 lakh fake currency notes. A total of 203 notes, all in new Rs 2000 denomination, were recovered.” he said.
Sources said that Ram Dayal of laxmipur area of Tulsipur (Balrampur) was handed over to the local police for further enquiry. The cops suspected that the notes were of high quality and could have been printed somewhere else and smuggled into India through Nepal. The sleuths of Intelligence agencies and Special Task Force and Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) have also joined the local police to grill the accused.
