Senior Congress leader and spokesman of All India Congress Committee (AICC), Rashid Alvi, demanded arrest of BJP MP Yogi Adityanath, alleging that he is an anti-national as no one having nation interest on top agenda would talk of creating division between Hindu and Muslims.
``BJP and Yogi are just trying to flare up communal hatred to polarise the voters as they had no love for unity and intergrity of this country”, alleged Alvi, while demanding to book Yogi on charges of treason and to arrest him immediately.
``They were raising the love-Jehad agenda just to make political gain out of it as if there is any such word, then first the BJP should explain that why three of their national spokespersons—MJ Akbar, Shahnawaz and Mokhtar Abbas Naqvi married a Hindu girl, or why niece of lal Krishna Advani or daughter of Subramaniam Swamy, had married in Muslim families”,asserted Alvi, charging BJP of always making a double speak just to fuel communal hatred and make political gains. Alvi was here to campaign for Congress candidate from lucknow (East) Assembly seat, Ramesh Srivastava.
Alvi also criticised prime minister Narendra Modi for his comments in Japan. ``Modi represents himself as from Gujrat when the truth is that in Japan he represents India, which is not proper and Modi should keep this in mind in the future”, Alvi alleged adding that Modi also presented Geeta, to which they had no objections, but his comment that some secular forces in India would not like his move, is highly objectionable.
``The infighting between two political parties on any issue should be confined within the nation and such remarks should be not made in any other foreign country as it just gives wrong picture about Indian amongst the minds of people of the other nations”, Alvi said.
