ADG Prayagraj has been asked to supervise the team to be sent to Punjab for bringing Mukhtar Ansari. The team was to be dispatched on Sunday.
Hours after the UP government received a letter from the Punjab government regarding shifting of don-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, the UP Police started preparations to bring him back to the state.
A special squad will bring back Mukhtar Ansari to UP under the supervision of the inspector general of police of Chitrakoot Dham range. The composition of the team and its strength was being discussed.
On the other hand, the security outside Banda jail has been increased and the jail has turned into a fortress as per the demands of the Jail Department.
The police will also check the credentials of those who come from outside to stay in neighbouring districts of Banda like Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, along with the inmates who are lodged in the jails of these districts.
