Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker  Satish Mahana will lead the MLAs to Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s darshan on February 11. Mahana made this announcement in the assembly on Tuesday. He has also invited lawmakers cutting across all political parties.

Samajwadi Party MLA  Iqbal Mahmood raised the demand for visiting the 5-acre land allotted for the construction of a mosque at Dhannipur village in Ayodhya. However, the speaker said: “Let the mosque be constructed there first,  and I will consider the request after consulting the trust made for the purpose.”

Samajwadi Party president  Akhilesh Yadav had also announced to visit Ram temple after the consecration ceremony which was held on January 22. Akhilesh is yet to confirm whether he will go to Ayodhya on February 11.

The SP chief , who is also the leader of opposition in the UP assembly, was invited for the January 22 event by the temple trust, but he refused to go.

The speaker and the MLAs will leave for Ayodhya Dham by a bus on February 11 morning. The MLAs have been permitted to visit Ayodhya along with their spouses.

Apna Dal and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party, both allies of the BJP, announced to go to Ayodhya Dham on February 11.

In February, ahead of the commencement of  the budget session of the state assembly  this issue was raised during the meeting of the leaders of all parties. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath  had announced that the MLAs would visit Ayodhya soon, and UP Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana would lead the yatra.

In November last year, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet, under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, met at Ramkatha Museum in Ayodhya.

The decision to hold the cabinet meeting in Ayodhya coincided with the anniversary of two momentous events in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple construction saga. On November 9, 1989, the first foundation stone of the temple was laid, and on November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court paved the way for the temple’s construction.

Earlier during the Kumbh Mela in the year 2019, a cabinet meeting was also held in Prayagraj. Cabinet meetings have also been held in Varanasi.
