Samawadi Party today sounded alert to its cadres over the growing influence of the Asaduddin  Owaisi,  the   All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP, in UP. Owaisi is lok Sabha member from Hyderabad, the capital of Telengana. The MIM is preparing ground for its grand entry in the state ahead of the 2017 UP assembly election. The MIM is belligerent after its success in October 2014 Maharashtra  state assembly and the wide support it received over its recent campaign against the death sentence  to the Yaqoob Memon, the  accused in the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai.

``Owaisi is the new Jinnah. His growing influence is dangerous for the nation. Pull up your socks and oppose him tooth and nail. The opposition to his brand of politics should come from UP. Fan out to every nook and corner of the state and spread awareness among the people before this leader is able to inflict damage to the social fabric of the state’, said the former MP Ramji lal suman adding `` you have to expose several forces inimical to the Samajwadi Party and also the Owaisi as the 2017 state assembly elections are not far away. Suman was addressing the meeting of the ``Samajwadi Prabuddh Sabha’’ (Samajwadi Intellectual cell) here on Tuesday. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav was also present in the meeting.

Another senior SP leader and the health minister Ahmed Hasan said `` Owaisi is the agent of the BJP. The muslims are no longer gullible to be influenced to be easily swayed by the rabble rousers like Owaisi’’. He added `` Samajwadi party is the only party in the country which has consistently fought against the communal forces and it’s only the SP which can fight for and protect the interest of the minorities’’.

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in his address stressed over the ideological legitimacy of the Socialism in the era of market economy.  He said only the Socialism and the capable of addressing the problems of the vast majority of the people particularly the poor irrespective of their caste, creed and religion.

Meanwhile the  state president of the MIM Shaukat Ali contradicting the charges of the Samajwadi party leaders said  `` the Yadavs of the Samajwadi Party  and the BSP are scared of the Owaisi  both the parties for the last two decades have used the muslims as a stepping stone to the throne of the UP. The SP has government has consistently betrayed the muslism and did nothing over the myriad promises it made during the 2012 state assembly elections’’

``The SP had promised to give 18 percent reservation to muslims in state services, implement the Nimesh commission report which probed into the arrest of three muslims youths in connection   with the serial blast in district courts of lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad. In 2012 the SP had also promised to release the innocent muslim youth who were framed in false terror charges and are languishing in jails’’, said Shaukat Ali.

The MIM leader alleged that the SP has tried every possible trick to prevent the public meeting of the MIM president Owaisi in UP. `` In Azamgarh , the lok Sabha constituency of the SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, the district administration cancelled the permission for the meeting of MIM President for 11 times. In Agra the permission for the party meeting  on March 20 this year was  given by the district administration on February 20 and it was cancelled three days before the meeting’’, said Shaukat Ali.

The MIM has challenged the denial of permission for meeting in Allahabad in the High court.  The MIM in its petition before the Allahabad High court has alleged that Owaisi is being denied permission at the alleged instance of ruling Samajwadi Party leaders, who are afraid that Owaisi might make a dent in their traditional muslim vote bank in the state.  The division bench comprising of Justice Rakesh Tiwari and Justice Mukhtar Ahmad has posted the case for next hearing on August 17.
