SP step for social justice campaign unnerving opposition

PNS

Samajwadi Party has said that the social justice campaign for uplift and emancipation of OBCs and MBCs launched by Mulayam Singh Yadav has unnerved the Opposition parties in the state.  Earlier this week Mulayam had said that the population of OBCs in the country was 54 percent yet they were ruled by upper castes who were hardly 8 percent of the population.

``The campaign by the Samajwadi Party for the OBCs and MBCs has set the alarm bells ringing in Opposition parties who for decades have thrived and enjoyed power with the support of OBCs but never did anything for their uplift and share in power,’’ said SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhary on Thursday.

The SP leader said  that these parties only deprived the OBCs of their due share in power  and treated them as vote banks while the Samajwadi Party has consistently fought for  ensuring their due share in power.

Dubbing the BSP, BJP and the Congress as anti-OBCs parties, the SP leader said, “For one decade, the SP is has been striving for inclusion of 17 MBCs in Schedule Caste category. But the BSP  opposed it, the Congress led UPA government rejected the proposal and the NDA government too followed their footsteps.’’

The SP leader said the three parties stand exposed among the MBCs and they are not ready to be misled by them.
