Biswajeet, PNS

A day after Afzal Ansari, elder brother of mafia-don turned politician Mukhtar Ansari urged BSP and Samajwadi Party to support Mukhtar in a fight against Narendra Modi in Varanasi the Samajwadi Party refused the proposal saying the party will go alone in the election.

"The Samajwadi party does not need the support of Quami Ekta Dal which is full of criminals. The SP does not need support of  'goonda and badmaash'," SP spokesperson Shivpal Yadav said while addressing reporters here on Monday.

He said the party has fielded Kailash Chaurasia from Varanasi and he is competenet enough to defeat Narendra Modi in Varanasi.Ear;lier Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav too had said that his party would not field joint candidate against Modi. He even said that if others want they can support Samajwadi party candidate in Varanasi on the name of secularism.

Quami Ekta Dal chief Ansari, who is lodged in jail in the BJP MlA Krishnanand Rai murder case, had earlier proposed to field a joint candidate in Varanasi.Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said his party would not let BJP succeed in its agenda of making Narendra Modi the Prime Minister.

"SP will not let BJP succeeded in lok Sabha polls and make Narendra Modi the next PM. If they (BJP) get defeated in Uttar Pradesh, Modi will never become PM," Yadav said during his meeting with Muslim clerics who came to meet him.

Yadav said that to save the Constitution and the secular character of the country, he had saved Babri Mosque in his regime and had also advocated formation of Federation of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
