Ruling Samajwadi Party has protested against the unconstitutional act of Governor Ram Naik by releasing a quarterly report and making political statements against the Governemnt.
‘The act of the Governor is unconstitutional and it proves that there is a political conspiracy brewing against the elected government,” SP general secretary Naresh Agarwal said in a statement here on Monday.
Governor Ram Naik had claimed that acche din has arrived and indirectly slammed the UP government over law and order and for not taking action against the corrupt politicians.
Agarwal said that such act of the Governor should be condemned as it is a direct interference on the works of a democratically elected government.
“Can Prime Minister Narendra Modi tolerate if President starts holding press meets to examine the works of his government,’ he questioned.
SP leader said people should not forget how SP organused ‘Hulla Bol’ against the then governor T V Rajeshwar during the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime in the state.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders have also condemned the act of the Governor. UP congress leaders Rita Bahuguna Joshi and spokesperson Amarnath Agarwal claimed that the act of the governor was unconstitutional.
However BJP has defended the Governor claiming that he had done nothing wrong.
‘The governor has the Constitutional power to ask the state government on the wrong doing. The Governor has presented the media reports only in his quarterly report booklet,’ said BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak.
