SP never gave respect to Jats; says Yogi

In a fierce attack on the Samajwadi Party, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that it never gave respect to Gokul Singh Jat, who had courageously challenged Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s tyranny and refused to accept his misdeeds.

Addressing a ‘Prabhaavi Matdaata Samwad’ in Agra, Yogi Adityanath said that unlike the SP, the Bharatiya Janata Party knows how to respect those who made sacrifices for the nation.

"We named the Agra Museum after Chhatrapati Shivaji," he said.

Targeting the opposition, Yogi Adityanath drew a comparison between the SP regime (2012-2017) and the BJP government formed in 2017, saying that “the previous governments used to deprive the people of facilities, youth of employment, daughters deprive their rights, the elderly, specially-abled and destitute women of benefits of welfare schemes, but his government implemented as well as enforced various reforms for the uplift of all”.

Continuing his attack on the opposition parties, Yogi said that earlier, the safety of daughters was at stake but now goons, rioters and miscreants thought 10 times before making any attempt to disrupt the state’s law and order and harmony.

“The BJP respects faith while the SP only knows how to play with faith,” he said.

Yogi compared the SP chief’s family with the characters of Mahabharata. “Kaka, mama, nana, bhatija (uncle, maternal uncle, maternal grandfather, nephew)… you must have heard of them either in Mahabharata or between 2012 and 2017,” he said.

“Before 2017, the charge of recruitment of different departments was given to the family members -- some to uncles, some others to brothers, and others to nephews. They are the reincarnated characters of Mahabharata who impeded Uttar Pradesh’s progress by launching a war just like they did at the time of Mahabharata. Today again their list of candidates is full of criminals,” he added.

Yogi Adityanath said that the SP's red cap was stained with the blood of innocent people killed in the Muzaffarnagar riots. “Whenever the SP got a chance, they threw the state into riots but never cared to develop it. The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party did the work of tearing the social fabric apart. Our government implemented schemes for the benefit of the poor. As a result, today every poor farmer is getting the benefits of schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi,” he said.

The list of candidates declared by the SP has given a clear message that Akhilesh Yadav is not ready to leave "criminals, goons and rioters", he added.

"I would like to tell them that after March 10, the same bulldozer will track down miscreants," he said.

Yogi said that BJP was in front of all with its nationalism, good governance and development. He said the world had seen the result of India’s Covid management which effectively saved lives and livelihood of people while the century’s biggest pandemic hit the world badly. He said along with free vaccines, tests, medicines and treatment, the double engine government also efficiently gave double doses of Covid vaccine and ration in the state.
