SP hits out at Modi

PNS

The Samajwadi Party targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi claiming that there was no migration from Kairana and or any other place in UP and Modi owed an explanation to the nation on the exodus from Gujarat after 2002 post-Godhara communal riots. The party also announced to send a team of Hindu religious leaders to Kairana.

“What to speak of Kairana, there is no report of migration from any part of the state. The reports filed by Intelligence agencies have dismissed the claim of exodus,’’ asserted UP-in-charge of the SP and PWD minister Shivpal Yadav at a press conference in lucknow on Friday.

“All those who have gone to Kairana or intend to visit the town are only indulging in politics. The SP government will never allow the conspiracy of communal forces led by the BJP to succeed in UP,’’ said Yadav.

The SP alleged that BJP MlA Sangeet Som was involved in a fake Indian currency racket and land grabbing. Som, an accused in 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, had announced to take out a `Nirbhay Yatra’ from Sardhana to Kairana, which was not allowed by the DM of Shamli.

The SP leader also claimed that the BJP was in search for an opportunity to foment communal strife in the state ahead of the 2017 Assembly polls.

``The BJP wants to communally polarise the society for obvious political objectives. The government will come down heavily on any such attempt. Be it Sangeet  Som or anybody else, strict actinwill be taken,’’ said Yadav.

“We will be sending a five-member team of  Hindu saints to Kairana to find out the reality even as  the district administration has negated any exodus,” claimed the PWD minister.

The team of saints will comprise - Pramod Krishnan Tyagi, Swami Kalyan Dev, Narain Giri, Chimayanand and Chakrapani. Krishan is known for his proximity to senior Congress leaders like former MP Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and also Minority Affairs minister Azam Khan.

In reply to a question that BJP was demanding return of the families who left Kairana and announcement to survey the exodus in other places of UP, Yadav said, “We will first demand from the BJP to rehabilitate those people who fled Gujarat after the 2002 riots.’’
