Social activist Dr Nutan Thakur, filed fresh petition before lokayukta Justice Sanjay Mishra requesting to open her complaint against controversial minister Gayatri Prajapati and re-investigate charges made by her regarding corruption and illegal mining.

Prajapati, who remained mining minister before he was shifted to Transport Department, is already in trouble as the lucknow police had launched a search for him after procuring a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) in a rape case. Nutan claimed that he informed State Ombudsman that she filed a complaint in December 2014 after first complainant Om Shankar Dwivedi against then mining minister Gyatri Prajapati has been withdrawn by his complaint.

In the complaint she made allegations about large scale illegal mining in Uttar Pradesh and creation of huge illegal wealth through illegal mining by Prajapati.

She had said that Prajapati had made huge wealth in the name of his wife Mahraji, two sons Anurag and Anil and two daughters Sudha and Ankita, other family members and relatives, accomplishes like Pintu Singh, Pintu Yadav and Vikas Verma and even his two drivers Ram Sahai and Ram Raj and various shell companies like Decent Construction Pvt ltd, life Cure Medical and Research Centre Pvt ltd, MG Colonizer, Shubhang Construction, Dream Destination Pvt ltd, Pavni Developers and Vaishno Infraheights Pvt ltd.

All the named persons, except his family members, had denied their relationship with Prajapati and the then lokayukta Justice N K Mehrotra had dismissed the complaint saying that he did not find any evidence against Prajapati and no link could be established between him and other persons and companies.

Nutan had also filed a petition against lokayukta order which is pending before lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, seeking SIT enquiry in the matter. Nutan, now claimed to have requested the Justice Sanjay Mishra that since the lokayukta is fully competent to investigate the matter and since most of the issues raised by her remain un-investigated, hence he shall take up the matter and reinvestigate it afresh so Prajapati and his cohorts could be punished.
