PNS, Biswajeet

With party getting a positive response from people the Samajwadi Party has decided to extend its Cycle Yatra till February 15 as party’s national president Mulayam Singh Yadav has asked workers to spread the message of good work being done by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his Government.

Party’s spokesman Rajendra Chaudhry said here on Sunday that Samajwadi party’s cycle yatra has received tremendous response across the state. This campaign has galavanised the party workers and leaders alike. Under the directions of the local leaders including ministers the workers have carried out Yatras in the mohulla and wards of all the cities. This Yatra has also been carried out in villages, he said.

"In each rally hundreds of people wearing traditional Samajwadi Party red cap join the campaign. In some places even the common men on the streets have joined them. Mohulla meetings are being held to apprise the people of good work being done by the Government. The leaders are talking about free distribution of laptops, distribution of unemployment allowance and introduction of Kanya Vidya dhan schemes of the Government . Impressed by the response Netaji (as Mulayam Singh as called) has decided to extend this yatra will February 15," Chaudhry told The Pioneer here.

Incidentally, this cycle yatra had helped Samajwadi Party to regain power in Uttar Pradesh. During election campaign in 2011 Akhilesh Yadav had led the yatra in western UP when farmers of Bhatta-Parsol were up in arms against the Government over land acquisition. This Yatra had helped the party to gain sympathy of the Governemnt.

Chaudhry said that this Cycle yatra would help the party to connect with the masses. People stop and watch as the yatra rolls down the mohulla. This sends a positive response, he said.

Will this Yatra counter Modi Chai ki chaupalIJ "Where is the chaupal", he asks. "It is just storm in the tea cup. People of Uttar Pradesh had taught communal forces lessons in previous years and this time too the people will reject these forces," he said refusing to name BJP.
