RLD flays PM over increase in black money in Swiss banks

PNS

Rashtriya Lok Dal's National spokesperson Anupam Mishra flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi while referring to the annual report of Switzerland’s Central Bank. He said it has been told that during the year 2020, the wealth of Indians in Swiss banks increased to Rs 20,700 crore while during the pandemic the income of people decreased and millions of families became victims of starvation and extreme poverty.

“During these times, this news has created distrust and disappointment in the system,” Mishra said. He added that in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi had not only made black money a poll issue but also promised to bring back the black money stashed abroad.

“Now the Modi government is enjoying its second term in power but he has not been able to fulfil the promises.  The irony is that since Modi came to power, there has been a record increase of 286% in the money stashed abroad,” he said.

Mishra said that people of India voted BJP to power believing their tall claims. “People were patient when a drastic step like demonetisation was taken despite the fact that they faced hardships, but it proved to be an exercise in futility,” he added.
