BJP’s national president Rajnath Singh will lead party’s five-day long anti-government campaign from June 26 by courting arrest in the state capital along with other senior leaders.
Party’s chief spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that senior party leaders including in-charge of UP’s party affairs Amit Shah, state party president Dr laxmiKant Bajpai, local MP lalji Tandon, former presidents Om Prakash Singh and Vinay katiyar would take part in the protest.
"In this agitation the party would highlight failure of the Union Government in controlling inflation as well as failure of Samajwadi party Government in Uttar Pradesh to maintain law and order," Pathak told reporters in his daily press briefing here on Wednesday.
He said that other senior leaders would stage protest all over the state the same day. The party workers have been asked to make this protest a success. Pathak said that people have lost faith on this Government because Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had talked about taking action against corrupt but has done nothing. Instead his ministers and legislators are now minting money. They are neck deep in corruption, he said.
"Public perception is that this government works only on suvidha shulk. Price is fixed in government working – from thana to DM’s office and one has to pay premium to get the work done," he said. BJP spokesman said if Chief Minister was serious in curbing crime he should take steps against the corrupt -and start the cleansing act from his party only.
