Close on the heels of cross-voting in favour of National Democratic Alliance presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar, an ally of Samajwadi Party, has showered praise on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Yogi Adityanath is honest, hardworking and accessible to all and listens to the grievances of the common man. Be it Azamgarh or Jhansi, wherever I go in Uttar Pradesh, people are full of praise of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and acknowledge that Yogi has destroyed the mafia raj and ended the era of extortion in UP,” Om Prakash Rajbhar said and added, “The Yogi Adityanath government has also conducted the transfers and postings of government officials in different departments in a diligent and transparent manner.”

Rajbhar, considered to be a political footloose, continuing the praise of Yogi Adityanath,  said, “No one can question the integrity and honesty of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , who is hardworking and diligent and that is the reason he is popular among all parties, including  Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) led by Shivpal Singh Yadav.

The SBSP is the former ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party and parted company in May 2019 after the Lok Sabha election. The SBSP contested the 2022 UP Assembly election in a pre-poll alliance with the Samajwadi Party.

In an interview with a TV channel, Rajbhar said during the campaign for the bypoll to Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat, wherever he met the people they praised the Yogi model of governance.

“The people in Azamgarh praised the chief minister for the robust law and order and elimination of goonda raj and extortion. The traders in Jhansi, Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Etah, Etawah, Saharanpur, Baghpat and Shamli also praised the chief minister for the improvement in law and order,” Rajbhar said.

He said there was a positive change in the style of functioning of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as he was taking the leaders of all parties along. “I met the chief minister three times in connection with some issues of my assembly constituency and he resolved them. This has happened for the first time in the last five years,” Rajbhar said.

On his relations with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and continuation in alliance, the SBSP chief said, “It is for Akhilesh Yadav to decide whether he needs me and my party in the alliance or not. If he says no then I will find a better alternative.”

He added, “Whether it is Mohammad Azam Khan or Shivpal Yadav, no one is happy with Akhilesh Yadav and soon you will see some big development in the Samajwadi Party.”
