To maintain the momentum which Rahul Gandhi's “Kisan Yatra”, made after he covered about 3500 kilometers across poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, the Congress finally launched “Rahul Sandesh Yatra" simultaneously in the all the 75 districts on Saturday.

The Yatra, flagged off by AICC secretary, Avinash Pande and MP Pramod Tewari, here at UPCC headquarter on Saturdaymorning, is expected to reach every panchayat and blocks of the State to build on the enthusiasm created by Gandhi's road shows and is seen as the Congress Party's micro-level outreach mobilisation campaign.

The Party leaders will raise the themes that were the focus of the Kisan Yatra — waiving farmers’ debt, reducing electricity rates by half and the deteriorating law and order at the local level are expected to dominate the yatra. “Rahul Gandhi's kisan yatra created substantial enthusiasm among people. Now we want to further expand that enthusiasm into a support base by reaching out to people at the level of smallest unit like the panchayat and block level,” said Satyadeo Tripathi, chairman of the UPCC media cell.

The ``Rahul Sandesh Yatra” which took off two days late then the schedule time slated for last Thursday, will cover  every Assembly constituency of the State before concluding on October 27. Incharge of lucknow District Congress Committee Vinod Mishra said that the Party cadre is really excited and thousands of workers particularly youths had came forward to join the Rahul Sandesh Yatra so that Party could finally accomplice `Mission 2017’ to reinstate a Congress government after 27-years.
