Questioning Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s silence over the utterances of Mani Shankar Aiyar against the Prime Minister, Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah said that people would not tolerate the insult of Narendra Modi and give a befitting reply to these parties in election.
“It is no secret that Sam Pitroda is the guru of Rahul Baba and Mani Shankar is his confidant. They are uttering derogatory words against the Prime Minister but Rahul is silent. He should speak out whether he approves Aiyar’s statements or not,” Shah said in a series of rallies held in Maharajganj and Fefana and Sikandarpur in Ballia on Thursday.
Shah was reacting to Aiyar’s statement in which he justified his “neech” remark against the Prime Minister.
The BJP president said that the Centre had worked tirelessly for full five years for the welfare of the people on the principle of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’.
“Around 26 lakh poor in UP have been given free health care service under Ayushman Bharat scheme and work have been done on roads, hospitals, schools, drinking water and for providing jobs to the youths,” he said.
Attacking the Congress, Shah said: “Rahul Baba is not giving any account of the 55 years of Congress rule, which pulled the country backward. Instead, they are asking us about our five-year rule. The people of the country will never forgive the Congress for its anti-people policies. A BJP government is a must at the Centre so that corruption does not return to the country.”
The BJP chief also attacked BSP chief Mayawati and SP president Akhilesh Yadav, holding them responsible for the backwardness of UP.
“Leaders of these parties only filled their pockets in the name of schemes for the poor but did nothing for society or the country,” he said.
Addressing a rally in Maharajganj to support BJP candidate Pankaj Chaudhary, Shah said that achhe din had returned in UP after the BJP government came to power and people were getting benefits of government schemes without any bias.
Mentioning local BJP MP Pankaj Chaudhary, Shah said that he had done several works in his constituency and was therefore very popular among the masses.
Union Minister of State for Finance, Shiv Pratap Shukla, who was also present, said that only Narendra Modi could give a strong government at the Centre and all should support him to make the country a developed nation.
In his address, BJP candidate Pankaj Chaudhary said that the BJP government had given benefits of welfare schemes to the last person in the society and written a new chapter in development.
Later in the evening, Shah held a roadshow in Gorakhpur in support of party candidate and Bhojpuri cine-star Ravi Kishan. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied him in the roadshow.
