After paying his gratitude towards people of Amethi for ensuring a victory for him in last Parliament elections, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will pay yet another day-long visit to his parliamentary constituency on Friday. This will be second visit to his constituency after winning the elections.
Interestingly, Smriti Irani, who lost to Rahul Gandhi but still being rewarded with a cabinet berth by her mentor Narendra Modi, had also posed a big challenge for the Gandhi scion to maintain special bond with the people of Amethi whom he always claimed as his family members. Smriti is trying to focus more on Amethi so if Rahul Gandhi or Congress loses further hold over sentiments of the people of Amethi than it would be not difficult for the Opposition Parties to defeat Gandhi scion in his own bastion.
Reports said that Rahul Gandhi would land at Amausi Airport in lucknow from where he will proceed to Amethi by road on Friday morning. He will tour various villages on the route, meeting party workers and locals and reach Pure Fattepur village in Jamo where he will visit the house for former MlA Jung Bahadur Singh whose son Daddan Singh was shot dead on June 14, Gandhi’s representative Chandrakant Dubey disclosed to the media persons on Thursday.
He said that Gandhi will also attend Roza Iftaar in Salon area in the evening before returning for Delhi. Sources in the Congress said that during the course of his visit, Gandhi is likely to inspect the progress and condition of various development works carried out in the area through the MP fund and other sources besides meeting women workers of Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojna.
