Rahul Gandhi makes direct attack on PM

PNS

Hitting prime minister over his claims of fight against corruption, black money, terrorism, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday made a targeted attack on Narendra Modi, accusing him of working in the interests of just one percent population which included 50 top industrialists of the country, who had 60 percent of the peoples money.

He also charged Modi for carrying his ``Wealthy friends” during his visit to US, China etc and has “made fun” of 99 per cent honest people through demonetisation.

``Narendra Modi knows very well that 60 percent of the total country’s money lies with 50 families... Modi goes to America and China with their family members, using their aircraft,” charged Rahul while making a frontal attack on prime minister during his ‘Janakrosh Rally’ in Jaunpur on Monday afternoon. He said only one per cent people have 60 per cent of the country’s wealth and that “Modi has made fun of 99 per cent honest people through demonetisation”.

``I know that Modi had no courage to take action against them as they were those who facilitate victory of Narendra Modi and are now using money to polish his image through media and posters’, alleged Rahul. This was his first rally in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh after the Winter Session of Parliament was washed out over demonetisation. last week, Rahul had threatened to “expose personal corruption of Modi” while claiming that he was not being allowed to speak in Parliament as it would lead to an “earthquake”.

Rahul further alleged that Modi had waived Rs 1,200 crore loan of Vijay Malya and Rs 1.10 lakh crore taken by 50 wealthy families, but did not care about writing off farmers’ loans. The Congress leader, who had undertaken a ‘Deoria to

Delhi’ padayatra to highlight the plight of farmers, said he had met the Prime Minister to seek waiver of farmers’ loans but the latter was non-committal.    The purpose of note ban was “Garib ka khincho, Amir ko sincho (extract from the poor and help the rich)”, he said.

Rahul claimed that people say that Modi’s demonetisation move is correct but he only made no planning before implementing it. ``I am confident that Modi had made a well planned demonetisation move. His 50 industrialists friends failed to return over Rs 8 lakh crore of loans which the banks termed it Non Performing Assets and I want to tell you all that this is planning of Modi to take out your hard earned money in the grab of demonetisation just to improve the economy of sick banks and later to forward waiver of loans to his industrialists friends”, charged Rahul Gandhi while asking the people just to wait for two to three months, and `planning’ of Modi will be exposed before everyone.

Calling it as a `Fire Bombing’ made during second world war to destroy cities, and not `surgical strike’ against black money, corruption, fake currency and terrorism funding etc, Rahul claimed that with one stroke to help his industrialist fronts, Modi had ruined the future of 99 percent of population which included farmers, labours, employees, middle class persons etc by terming their small earnings as `Black Money”. He also cited an example of one lakshmi of Banglore who sell flowers to earn his livelihood but now after demonetisation, she was forced to beg to have two time meal.

Insisting that “All cash is not black and all black money is not in cash”, the Congress leader said, “94 per cent black money is stashed away in foreign banks, real estate and investment in land deals and gold. But why is PM running after only the rest 6 per centIJ” He reminded the public that Modi during last Parliament campaign had said that he had list of those having black money deposited in foreign accounts and that he will bring it back and credit every ones account with Rs 15 lakh. ``Instead of revealing those 50 names of black money holders which is with the prime minister, Modi had attacked on 99 percent population of this country”, he alleged. Claiming that Congress in not against cashless economy Rahul said that it should be not forced as transfer of Rs 100 by the people will directly benefit Modi’s industrialists friends with 5 percent of the amount, hence Modi is now advocating cashless economy.

Rahul also took on Modi over so called `secrecy’ claims of Modi on demonetisation. ``How the BJP’s Bengal Unit deposited entire cash just few hours before the Demonestisation, or how assets worth several lakh crores have been purchased in the name of BJP leaders before Demonestisation or how over Rs 6 lakh crore in cash was deposited in banks in September last and many more such instances which Modi had to answer before making secrecy claims”, Rahul said. He also accused Modi of not listening to anyone.

Interestingly, at the rally, when some workers shouted slogans against Modi, Rahul asked them to desist from making personal attacks. “Our fight against Narendra Modi is political, please don’t raise ‘murdabad’ slogans against him...such language is used by fascists and RSS, not Congress,” he told them adding that their fight is with Modi and they will remove him from the PM’s post.
