After remaining a Congress MlA continued for last 34-years and Congress legislative Party leader for over two decades, Pramod Tewari vowed that he and his family is a true Congress worker and that he will remain in the Party till his death. Pramod was trying to clear the dust over his loyalty particularly in the manner in which he got elected to Rajya Sabha just with the `blessings’ of Samwajwadi Party’s supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
``Winning a by-election with just 28 members of the Congress was unprecedented when a candidate was required at least 202 members support”, admitted Pramod Tewari but just to show his distance from SP, former ClP not took name of Samajwadi Party even once though he even went on record that how he made it possible is just known to Uttar Pradesh Congress president Nirmal Khatri who p layed a key role in his victory and he wanted to thank him.
To further ruled out any possibility of his loyalty towards SP or Mulayam Singh Yadav, Pramod went on to say that he was true fighter of the Party. ``I was born from parents who both were Congress leaders, my grandfather is involved in freedom struggle with Congress so my three generations are with Congress and I will also work for the Party till I die”, Pramod claimed while making efforts to make emotional chord with Congress workers who gathered at Party head quarter to welcome him for his `unbelievable’ achievement and also to learn trick of `floor-management’ for which Pramod is known through-out his career so far. He was also popular amongst the legislators of all the parties as he watch their `interst’ much and raised their `concern’ with full strength in the House than he reportedly raised public issues.He also get the reward when all the leaders of the House welcomed his success which is hardly seen otherwise.
Interestingly Pramod while addressing Partymen also tried to clear that it was not he who went for RS polls. ``Sonia Gandhi called and ordered me to go for RS pols from UP. I know that it is very difficult but Soniaji said that she knew that I could di it so I accepted the challenge and was happy to live to her expectation” Pramod disclosed adding that even on Friday when he got winning certificate, Soniaji called and congratulated him.On Friday, he also not forget to thank Rahul Gandhi for his success.
It may be mentioned that Pramod’s statement comes in wake of the reported statement made by Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma alleging nexus between Pramod Tiwari and Mulayam Singh Yadav for getting the RS seat. Rumors were also high that former ClP would join hands with Mulayam Singh Yadav if third front government comes into existence. However, on Friday Pramod while asserting that he was a true Congressman said that he was sure that UPA-3 will come to power after next elections.
On news that AAP leader Kumar Vishwas is going to corner Rahul Gandhi in Amethi in coming Parliaments elections,Pramod denied any threart. ``First I wanted to say that in Amethi, Rahul is having a family bond with the people of the area and not relation of leader-public so there is no chance any outsider making any impact. Secondly I am having my constituency next to Amethi so I can assure that I will make that AAP into Tum”, claimed Pramod adding that now do not askem him about Tum
