Senior Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sadhvi Prachi has alleged that she was attacked on the directives of Samajwadi Party’s (SP) firebrand leader Mohammad Azam Khan in Bareilly “as there was an attempt to kill her.”

“I along with my few saints were attacked while we were going for a Mahapanchayat in Shergarh of Bareilly where over 150 girls have left studies owing to eve teasing. But we were attacked by the police on the orders of Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan,” she told reporters on Meerut on Wednesday.

She said that there was an attempt to kill her. But she is alive because of Ramji ki Kripa.

“Uttar Pradesh does not have democratic values. Goonda Raj prevails here and police acts as per the directives of Samajwadi party leaders,” she said and recalled as how police threatened them to not to attend the Mahapanchayat otherwise they would be forced to spend their entire life in the jail.

The Sadhvi said it was the responsibility of the Government to ensure that girls go to school without fear. If somebody misbehaves with these girl students action should be taken against the erring people. “But here situation is totally different. The attacker is ruling the roost while the victim is being persecuted,” she said.

She claimed that she had received injuries when police attacked her. A medical test was carried out in the state run hospital.
