With major functions lined up across the state, all major political parties are gearing up to celebrate the 126th birth anniversary of Dalit icon Dr BR Ambedkar on Friday.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will hold a big programne at Dr Ambedkar Samajik aur Parivartan Sthal where party president Mayawati will address workers and supporters. Samajwadi Party and Congress along with other smaller parties too will celebrate the occassion but it will be in a smaller scale .
UP Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend a function at Ambedkar Maha Sabha in the state capital on Friday morning.
However, the BJP’s programme will be the biggest among the political parties. State BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that the party will celebrate the day as ‘Samrasta Diwas’ and it would be celebrated in all 1400 divisions of the party across the state.
“The day will start with ‘prabhat pheris’ and then a workshok will be organised which will be followed by ‘Samrasta Bhoj’. The main programe would be held between 1pm and 230 pm when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak on Dr Ambedkar,” Pathak said in a statement on Thursday.
The party has asked all 1400 divisions to install big screens or TVs to listen to the PM’s address.
Pathak said that workers of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold workshops to make people aware on how to download the BHIM app. “Besides, party workers will carry out a cleanness drive in Dalit colonies and have lunch with them,” the BJP leader said.
“During the programme the BJP workers and leaders will educate people on PM’s vision about ‘Panch Tirth’ ideology of Dr Ambedkar which envisons the path of equality and development in the society,” Pathak said.
